Scam Alert

Several Vera Water and Power customers were targeted by two different kinds of scammers this week.

First, there were a number of phone scammers who threatened to disconnect Vera customers’ power unless they made an immediate phone payment. Hang up! Vera Water and Power never calls the customer to demand phone payment.

Next, we have reports that solar power hucksters are knocking on doors. These unsolicited intruders may be pitching unnecessary expensive products or attempting to steal items from you. Unless your utility company has notified you in advance, or you initiated a request for such a service, do not let them into your home or business.
