Planned outages

From time-to-time, we need to de-energize the power lines to work on the electrical system or shut off the water to service the maintain the lines in your neighborhood. Most of the time, we can do this work without interrupting your electrical or water service. Sometimes, we need to shut off the power or water so our crews can work safely. We know being without water or power is an inconvenience. Other than your safety and the safety of our employees, there is nothing more important than getting the lights turned on or the water running. We appreciate your patience while our crews work to improve our system's reliability. We'll have the power or water turned back on as fast as we can!

Posted Sept. 21, 2018: Planned water outage on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Updated at 10:30 a.m.: Your water service has been restored. Our crew is still working in the area. While they are working, there is still a possibility that your service could be interrupted. We expect the crew to be in the neighborhood until about 1 p.m. Again, thank you for your patience as we work to make these necessary repairs.

We’re doing some unexpected work to the water system to repair a leak this morning affecting 40 customers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. around the 15100 block of E. 12th Avenue. When this happens, we have to turn off the water to do this kind of work. Being without water is inconvenient, and really appreciate your patience, especially when it’s unplanned. Our crew will be going around the neighborhood to notify you of the water outage. We’ll get the water back on as fast as we can. Thank you!
The affected area includes:
15100 – 15400 E 12th Ave
1200 – 1000 Block of South Newer Ct
1200 – 1000 Block of South Century Ct

Posted Aug. 23, 2018: Planned electrical outage on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., and on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, from 2:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.

  1. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.: This outage will affect about 200 homes as indicated by the Google map. Generally, these are the homes bounded by Morningside Heights Drive, Twilight Lane, Rosemont, Lane, 17th Ave., Apollo Rd, N. Chapman Road, Daystar Rd, and Incline Drive. We need to make improvements to the power system, and it's safer for you and our crews if we turn the power off to work. Being without power is inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience. We'll turn the lights back on as soon as we can!
  2. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, from 2:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.: This outage will affect our customers who live off of Barker Road on E. 21st Court, E. 22nd. Court, and S. Meadowview Road. View the map.

Planned outage on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018

Vera Water and Power has scheduled a maintenance outage for approximately 50 Vera Water and Power customers. By taking the electric service offline, this allows our crews to work safely to maintain your powerlines. We are working just south of I-90 and north of Mission.

The work we are doing now means we can keep the power on when you need it the most. We appreciate your patience while we work on keeping your service reliable in the long-run.

Planned outage on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017

Vera has planned an outage on Thursday, Aug. 24 on 6th, 7th, and 8th Avenues (and side streets). We're working on 8th Ave. to improve reliability. For the safety of our workers, we have to de-energize the lines to do some of that work. We'll be going door-to-door to notify you if you're going to be affected.

Here's the plan for tomorrow.

This event will occur in three phases.

148 customers on 8th Ave between Evergreen and Adams, also side streets Bannen/Best/Rees/Calvin
