As a full requirements customer of the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Vera Water and Power has worked in partnership with other regional public utilities to secure favorable wholesale electricity rates, allowing us to provide you with some of the most competitive power rates in the United States.
While BPA projects that power rates will remain stable until October 1, 2025, they forecast a possible double-digit increase in wholesale power rates beginning in October 2025. This potential rise is attributed to inflation, ongoing infrastructure investments, and increased operational expenses.
In light of these circumstances, Vera’s board of directors has approved an overall electric revenue rate increase of 3.5%, effective this October. For the average residential customer using 1,200 kWh monthly, this translates to an approximate $3.57 increase per month.
We are committed to keeping you well-informed with regular updates about BPA’s operations and any potential fluctuations in the costs of wholesale electricity that may affect your rates. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, our customer service team is available to assist you.
