Foam insulation blankets help keep water meters from freezing
Help keep your water service from freezing by covering your water meter with a foam insulation blanket.
The blankets—which are easy to install—are FREE and available at our office. You can pick up your free insulation blanket just outside the Vera office, 601 N. Evergreen Rd.
A properly installed insulation blanket traps warmer air from the ground and minimizes exposure of the meter to cold air. Please, do not use home insulations because those products soak up water, freeze, and defeat the insulating purpose.
While you are looking at your water meter, be sure to inspect your meter vault cover.
The vault cover is essential to keeping the meter protected and must be in place. If the cover is missing, broken or cracked, contact us at operations@verawaterandpower.com. Include your name, address, and photo or description of your meter vault cover. Vault cover prices vary depending on style and size.
