The Vera Lighting Calculator Version 6

Eligibility

  • Available for retrofits and new construction.
    • Retrofits must achieve at least a 25% kWh reduction determined by the lighting calculator.
    • New Construction projects must achieve at least a 20% kWh reduction from the lighting power allowance, as determined by the lighting calculator.
    • Projects with Networked Lighting Control (NLC) measures have the following additional requirements:
      • Fixtures must be listed on the Design Lights Consortium Solid State Lighting Qualified Products List;
      • Control products must be listed on the Design Lights Consortium Solid State Lighting Qualified Products List;
      • The control product model number must be included in the “notes” section of the Measures tab for each measure within a lighting calculator.
Commercial advanced rooftop unit control rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits.
  • Building may be electrically or gas heated.
  • ARC projects are not eligible for a Connected Thermostat payment.
  • Existing RTU has the following pre-condition characteristics:
    • A cooling capacity equal to or greater than 5 tons;
    • A unitary system (split systems are not eligible); and
    • A constant-speed supply fan (RTUs with variable-speed fans are not eligible).
  • Post-conditions:

Rebate: $150 to $700 per ton

Commercial air source heat pump rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits and upgrades; new construction projects may qualify for upgrade only.
  • Building must be primarily electrically heated.
  • New equipment for retrofits must hold an HSPF2 rating and meet federal minimum requirements.
  • New equipment for upgrades must hold the following HSPF2/HSPF efficiencies:
    •  <65,000 Equipment size (cooling capacity; BTU/H):
      •  Split-System, 8.1 HSPF2 or 9.6 HSPF
      • Single Package: 7.0 HSPF2 or 8.3 HSPF
    • >65,000 and <135,000: 3.5 COP
    • >135,000 and <240,000: 3.4 COP
    • >240,000: 3.4 COP
Commercial connected thermostat rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits only.
  • Building is eligible to receive payments for more than one thermostat.
  • This measure is not eligible for lodging, 24/7 occupancy, or semi-conditioned spaces.
  • Connected thermostat projects are not eligible for an ARC payment.
  • Pre-conditions:
    • Heating fuel type of system to be controlled by new thermostat may be electric or gas; and
    • The existing thermostat is not web-enabled.
  • Post-conditions – Initial Install:
    • The installed thermostat controls an existing HVAC supply fan and serves a single zone. “Invisible zones” are permitted (e.g., separate RTUs serving different portions of a large retail space).
    • The installed connected thermostat must be listed on the Connected Thermostat Qualified Products List (QPL).
    • The thermostat must be programmed as follows:
      • Thermostat is connected to the web.
      • Temperature setback is used for unoccupied hours (heating and/or cooling, as applicable).
      • Fan schedule uses auto mode for unoccupied hours (e.g., during unoccupied hours or holidays, the fan will only run when there is a demand for heating or cooling).
      • Override duration set to three hours or less.
      • For heat pumps, auxiliary resistance heat lock-out is enabled with appropriate temperature set point.
      • In cases where two or more systems serve spaces that are not separated by physical barriers (e.g., “invisible zones”), simultaneous heating and cooling is eliminated (i.e., by having identical temperature set points and schedules with appropriate dead-bands, or through having network-coordinated controls).
    • Post-conditions – Verification Only:
      • The thermostat received a payment for the initial install and was installed after October 1, 2019.
      • The thermostat is eligible for up to four verification payments within two years of the initial install.
      • A verification payment can be claimed in same year as the initial install, provided verification takes place at least three months after the initial install.
      • The thermostat is programmed to meet the initial install programming requirements as described above under Initial Install Post-conditions.
      • The thermostat is eligible for a verification payment twice within one calendar year. Verification may not be less than three months apart.
      • Verification must occur in different seasons.

Rebate: $300 to $1,000 per ton

Commercial ductless heat pump rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits and upgrades; new construction projects are not eligible.
  • Building must be primarily electrically heated.
  • New equipment for retrofits must hold an HSPF2 rating and meet federal minimum requirements.
  • New equipment for Upgrades must hold the following HSPF2/HSPF efficiencies:
    • Non-Ducted: 10.4 HSPF2 or 11.0 HSPF
    • Ducted or Mixed: 9.4 HSPF2 or 10.0 HSPF

 

Rebate between $800 – $1,000

Commercial heat pump water heater rebate form

Eligibility

  • Consumer Unitary HPWH in Commercial Application:
  • Commercial Unitary HPWH
    • Incentives are for retrofit or new construction, except:
      • Areas where building energy code requires a HPWH for electric water heating, which currently includes:
        • All non R1 and R2 commercial buildings in Washington state with a combined water heating input rate of 1 million Btu/h or greater.
      • Unit must be Energy Star certified as per requirements in the Commercial Water heaters Version 2.0 or later;
      • Have an integrated tank; and
      • Be installed indoors in a conditioned or buffered space.

Rebate between $1.10 to $2.20 depending on R-value

Commercial insulation rebate form

Eligibility

  • Available for retrofits only.
  • Pre-condition:
    • The primary heating system is electric and the existing insulation value is between R-0 and R-5.
  • Post-condition:
    • The installation of insulation in wall or attic/roof spaces will be per the levels shown in the table below.
    • Installation of insulation in floor or crawl spaces is not eligible.

Rebate between $100 to $600 per unit

Commercial PTHP rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits and new construction.
  • Pre-conditions for Retrofit installations:
    • The space is conditioned by a PTAC or zonal electric-resistance heat as the primary heating source.
  • Post-conditions:
    • The installed PTHP must have an AHRI certificate of product rating.
    • All AHRI-certified PTHPs qualify for this incentive regardless of the rated COP.

Rebate of $18 per square foot

Commercial windows rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are only available for retrofits; new construction projects are not eligible.
  • Building must be primarily electrically heated.
  • Pre-existing windows are single-pane, single-pane with storm windows, or double-paned metal-frame windows.
  • New windows must have a National Fenestration Rating Council-rated U-value of 0.30 or lower.

Commercial refrigeration rebates

Rebate: $100 to $200 per linear foot of case

Commercial refrigeration display case door retrofit rebate form

Eligibility

  • Available for retrofits only.
  • Existing display case must be open (i.e., not have doors).
  • Existing display case must be served by a remote refrigeration system (i.e., not self-contained).
  • The vertical case measure is available for medium-temperature display cases.
  • The horizontal case measure is available for either medium or low-temperature cases. Dual temperature cases should be reported as medium temperature.
  • Postconditions:
    • Display case must have double – or triple-pane glass doors.
    • Replacing an open case with a new case with double- or triple-pane glass doors is eligible.

Rebate of $55 to $140 per motor

Commercial refrigeration evaporator fan motors rebate form

Eligibility

  • Incentives are for retrofits only.
  • For walk-in coolers and freezers: Motors must have fans that are 10 inches in diameter or larger.
  • For refrigerated display cases: All fan sizes are eligible.
  • Pre-condition:
    • Shaded pole evaporator motor in refrigerated display case, walk-in cooler or freezer.
  • Post-conditions:
    • Replace a shaded pole evaporator fan motor with an ECM or PMSM.

Rebate of $10 to $20 according to BPA refrigeration controls calculator V1.0

Commercial refrigeration floating display pressure controls rebate form

Eligibility

  • Available for retrofits only.
  • This measure applies to multiplex refrigeration systems (i.e., compressors operating in parallel) only.
  • The measure unit is evaporator design load in MBH.
  • Implementation requires use of the BPA Refrigeration Controls Calculator, and the MBH in the submitted calculator must match the highlighted or circled MBH in the submitted refrigeration schedule. The end-user can apply for either the Floating Head Pressure Control Measure, the Floating Suction Pressure Control Measure, or both, as indicated in the calculator.
  • Floating Head Pressure Control:
    • Pre-condition – The minimum head pressure temperature set point must be fixed and have exceeded or been equal to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Post–condition – Minimum head pressure control set point must be 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Floating Suction Pressure Control:
    • Pre–condition – The base case must be a fixed suction pressure or temperature set point, as noted in the calculator.
    • Post–condition – post-project suction pressure shall be enabled to float, as indicated in the BPA Refrigeration Controls Calculator, based on input from a temperature sensor in a critical case on the appropriate suction group.
